Reflecting on My First Project!
My first client? My dad, Zac. He is a privacy-focused tech consultant and who needed help building a clearer brand, developing better structure, and creating a marketing foundation that felt aligned with his values.
We started simple: A strategy-first approach, centered on what he actually enjoys doing and who he wants to help. I created and optimized his Google Business Profile, helped structure his site, and laid out a path to help him start getting inquiries. I also created a case study out of the whole process, so I could show the kind of thoughtful, regenerative work I want to keep doing.
What I learned:
There’s no replacement for doing the work. You can plan and imagine all day, but actually working with a client teaches you what your process really feels like. I learned where I’m confident, where I need better systems, and how much I love this kind of collaborative problem-solving.
More than anything, it reminded me why I started this: to support people who are doing good, meaningful work, and just need some guidance to grow it!
